How to Remove a Perfume Scent From the Body Skin

Choosing a scent is a fascinating process. Many of us like going to our favorite perfume shop, trying out some perfumes, going home and feeling some enchanting notes on our bodies. It’s a great joy when a choice is successful, and we pleasantly rush back to the counter to indulge in buying. But what would you do if you didn’t like the smell?

When you don’t’ like the smell, you want to get rid of it as quickly as possible. But it pursues you everywhere and already seems that everything smells like that haunting fragrance. Can we remove a perfume scent from our skin? In fact, there are some tips:

Wipe the area where you sprayed perfume with spirits

This is probably one of the most well-known ways to remove odors. But you can hardly call it a universal method: not all smells can be removed in this way and the skin is dried out and irritated. Nevertheless, this is the first thing you can try. Vodka can do if there are no spirits. Moisten a cotton wool tampon and just wipe the area of the skin where the perfume was applied.

Deodorant and detergent

Do not be surprised, but such a strange combination works very well. First take a non-odorous deodorant and treat the skin area affected by the perfume. Then wash the skin with a detergent solution (it’s preferable if the detergent is also non-odorous).

Soda paste

Make a dense composition of soda and warm water. They need to be taken in equal amounts. Place the composition on the skin. Wait for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water (but not hot water!).

Vinegar (light) and olive oil

This is another recipe found in every kitchen. You need to make a mixture of vinegar and olive oil, wipe the skin area, wait for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water and then with neutral soap.

How to Curl the Hair without Heat Damage

We are women and we always feel a lack of something. The owners of curly hair use flat irons and dream of straightening it forever because it’s difficult to do such hair. Girls with straight hair curl it so that their hairdo looks more voluminous. But all of them do harm to their hair. In our detailed video tutorial you will see how you can create natural curls with the help of an elastic head band.

Constant use of curling irons and hot rollers makes your hair brittle and dull. And if you dye your hair, the harm is even more noticeable. To keep your locks beautiful and silky, we will show you a simple way to curl your hair without heat damage.
Just put a band on your head and twist your hair around the band, lock by lock. Go to bed like that, and in the morning you’ll get beautiful curls that can be lightly sprinkled with hairspray for better fixation.

Hair Split Ends Caused by Water

No healthy shin or elasticity, split ends – researchers claim to have found the cause of these problems. And it is in our water pipes.

The root of the problem is in the water and the pipes through which it flows. It turns out that water pipes contain a lot of copper. The metal has the ability to accumulate in the hair and it cannot be washed away with regular shampoo. Hair absorbs copper like a sponge. And because of the copper hair looks dull, even good stylers cannot help.
Copper in the hair continues to destroy it. It accumulates free radicals and makes the hair vulnerable to sunlight. It does not let get good results from hair coloring either. Copper damages the cuticle – the outer shell of the hair, making the hair prone to damage.
Procter & Gamble cautions about all of this. The company’s specialists conducted a study and analyzed the hair of 450 women in different countries with different levels of copper in the water.
Scientists say there are ingredients that neutralize copper. These are chelants, chemical substances. However, today there are no shampoos containing chelants – these substances are now found in detergents.
All of this suggests that soon manufacturers will add chelants to their products (hair dyes and shampoos). We are waiting for the new products and hope this study is not just a marketing ploy to get us to buy new hair stylers.

Sugar Scrub

Pamper your body with a soft and sweet sugar scrub. This great home remedy will make your skin velvety soft and clean.

Why Choosing Sugar Scrub?

Tiny sugar granules, large and hard at the beginning, under the influence of water gradually become smooth and soft, gently cleansing the skin. If your skin is damaged, and it has cracks, sugar scrub will not cause discomfort or tingling, as salt scrub does.
In addition, sugar can be mixed with various ingredients, and you will always have guaranteed cleansing and soft, smooth skin.

Sugar & Olive Oil Scrub

Mix 4 tablespoons of sugar and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. The mixture is applied to the wet body in a circular motion. After the procedure, you don’t need to use shower gel or soap, just blot your skin with a towel and allow it to air dry. Olive oil, which is part of a scrub, contains vitamins, antioxidants and other active ingredients that soften the skin and give it a velvety texture.

Cocoa & Sugar Scrub

Take a little bit of cocoa powder and add it to the sugar, mixed with essential oils. Your skin will be grateful for such a sweet procedure.

World’s Most Expensive Vasari Paper Bag

What is the cost of a paper bag where we put our purchases? Even if buy the products of some expensive brand? No more than 50 cent? $3? $35? Try to guess again! It can cost nearly three hundred dollars!

The world’s most expensive paper bag is a package named Vasari Bag by Jil Sander. A plain rectangular bag is made of coated paper (though it looks like ordinary craft) and is sold for $290.
The decor includes stitching, metal holes and a Jil Sander logo. This bag is from the Fall-Winter 2012 collection.
The Stylelist edition has told about the new product, reasonably noting that for $290 you could buy all the paper bags you see while shopping this fall.
But there is another, no less astonishing news about the package for $290. It is impossible to buy a package for they are currently sold out, and those who want to buy a Vasari Bag will have to wait for its release next season. What a pity!

Weight Loss Fragrance Created in France

Women can now safely use any recipe, including the one with the most calories. Perfume for weight loss removes the painful craving for a snack.

The action of the fragrance is based on the fact that they contain a substance which, when applied to the skin, stimulates the release of endorphins, the joy hormones. So once a woman feels certain psychological discomfort and reaches for another portion of chips, cakes, etc. – she will only need to remember about the perfume and to wrap herself in the fragrance. Indeed, there is scientific evidence that the desire to have a snack, as a rule, emerges not because of hunger.
The new perfume also includes caffeine, carnitine and spirulina extract, which promote fat loss by activating key enzymes responsible for this process. The creators of fragrance recommend to apply the fragrance on your skin in the morning and during the day, when you feel like eating. And to achieve ideal proportions as soon as possible, we are advised gentle massage mornings and evenings.

How to Get Rid of Night Hunger

Food eaten at night or late in the evening just for a month can ruin even the most slender figure. You should simply not eat at night to avoid this. But what if you can’t? Nutritionists recommend a simple way to deal with such false signs of hunger as night outbreaks of appetite.

Waking up at night from hunger, do not drink sugary drinks – this will only increase your appetite. It is better to walk around and make a couple of simple exercises. Of course, there is no need of doing push-ups, but you can quietly rotate your head and hands.
Here are a few tips for “night gastronomic disruptions”: do not keep chips, crackers, sausages and other snacks in the house because they may draw your attention at night.
In the evening, cook just enough food that you can finish without leftover for tomorrow.

Running vs. Walking and the Notion of Calories Burned

Many, many people who train for running races speak about feeling constantly ravenous. I have loads of friends who have trained for marathons and have gained an average of 10 pounds in the process. It’s natural to feel hungrier when you’re moving more.
Eating well, eating in a proper calorie range for you, that is almost all of the weight equation. Know that what you eat will influence and account for 85% of where you find yourself on the scale. I walk because I love it. I walk because it sets off a domino effect of healthy choices in my life- I feel good, I’m energized, I’m motivated to do more, I’m peppy about eating wholesome foods, I’m wanting to maintain a feeling of health and vitality. I walk because we are what we do and I want to be up, out, and exploring. I want to be here and there and everywhere. I also want to listen to podcasts and call my mother several thousand times a day. For these reasons, my feet are often sidewalking.
Honestly, it’s not the calorie torcher we hope it will be. Not walking, not running, not elliptical-ing or even stairmaster-ing.
At most, and I’m going to be generous here: I’m burning 300 calories on a 4 mile walk. That wouldn’t even cover the donut I want at Dunkin’ Donuts (vanilla kreme filled, thankyouverymuch). I would barely blink ten times in the span of time it’d take me to eat 300 calories. But it’s not about the calories I’ve burned. Because when I think about a Snickers being equivalent to 45 minutes of moving my legs, my body, I realize that the notion of ‘working off’ what we eat is fairly ludicrous. It’s blown out of proportion, at the very least.
Moving is good for your heart- your whole being. Moving sets a tone for your day, your lifestyle. The way you feel about yourself from pushing your boundaries builds positive momentum in ways far beyond health.
The day that I untangled exercise from caloric burn was one of my happiest. The only way you’ll learn this as truth is to test it yourself. You must take a risk and try a few weeks (I’d go with three) of just walking or biking or swimming, whatever gets you going. Notice how you feel, how much you weigh at the end of it all. Notice your sleep, your routine, your physical comfort.
And then,
no matter if your weight is up or downAsk yourself this:
Am I more content doing this day in and day out? Do I not dread the coming days now that I know I don’t have to pound out a set number of miles just to maintain?
Ravenous Beast Syndrome and How to Treat It
I hear you when you say you constantly fantasize about food. What I want you to pay attention to is this: your body is telling you something. You are consumed by the thought of food because of two things:
1. You are hungry. You are hungry. This is nothing to fear. Nothing to be afraid of. Nothing to get angry at yourself over. Everyone is hungry. Everyone would like to eat a million times a day because the thing about food is: it’s delicious. And even when it’s not delicious, it really is.  We’re hedonists at heart. We find flavors that make us swoon and we want them over and over again. If given a choice between hooking myself up to a frosting feeding tube or being free, I’d choose the tube.
The key is to find satiety for you.
2. You have a mental picture of yourself as a ravenous machine. You’re thinking that you’re constantly hungry, and probably feeling a little guilty/anxious/afraid of this hunger. What we focus on only becomes larger, more meaningful to us. You must trust that, if you ate until you were not hungry anymore, you would not be a wildabeast. You would eventually find fullness.
When we’re hungry, sometimes we let it get so far that we feel as though nothing, and I mean not a thing- not even 10 cakes (and wouldn’t we love to test that hypothesis)- could fill us. This is untrue. Just last night, I arrived home near-starving from a full day of Christmas shopping, gallivanting, Starbucks-ing, wearing yoga pants like I invented them. I felt certain that there weren’t enough items in my parents’ home to satisfy the empty pit I’d become. I was sure I’d have to eat all through the night and into the next day just to get to a point where my body said, ‘OK, we’re all done here. We can move safely onto dessert. Thank you for your time.’
I was certain.
We tell ourselves these stories and hold them as truths of the highest order. We are un-fill-able. We are always hungry. Nothing is enough.
Here’s what I learned at 8:30pm after eating a tub (16 thick and luscious ounces) of Fage 2% greek yogurt: I had been wrong.
I was fill-able. I was not always hungry. I had
I had had
enough.
And I reminded myself then, that so often I think I’m right. I act as though the thoughts I hold about myself in any given moment are the gospel. The reality is that yes, we will be hungry. Yes, we’ll even be starving beyond starving, thinking about eating those french fries sitting limp and lonely on a fellow restaurant diner’s plate (why didn’t they finish them?). Yes, we’ll overeat. Yes, we will feel stuffed. Those are truths.
And here are more:
Yes, we will be un-hungry. Yes, we will be full.
Your body, your mind, they’ll tell you those truths when you’re treating them kindly. They’ll be more honest when you let them say what they want without judgment.

  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1.5 tsp pure almond extract

  1. For the cherries: In a small saucepan heat the sugar and water over medium-high heat until the sugar is dissolved. Pour the hot liquid over the cherries and let soak on the counter until they come to room temperature. Stir in the whiskey. Let soak in the fridge until ready to use.

When the churning is complete, spread 1/3 of the ice cream over the bottom of a shallow airtight container (1.5 quart capacity). Next, drizzle 1/3 of the cold salted caramel sauce over the ice cream. Evenly distribute 1/3 of the cherries over the sauce. Top with another 1/3 of the ice cream and repeat the layers until everything is gone. Cover with plastic wrap and an airtight lid. Freeze for 4 hours, or up to 2 weeks.

Beauty Tips For Your Face Shape

1. Oval shaped face

It is best to use a light colored or natural shade foundation. Use the foundation below the forehead area and around the nose. Keep the brow arch natural, this will help to define your look. Do not opt for heavy makeup on eyes and lips. If you are highlighting the eyes, then apply a natural shade on lips. And, if lipstick is dark, then use a light colored eye shadow.

2. Round shaped face

Make your round face appear slim by using the foundation trick. Take a dark shade foundation base for this. Apply it on the upper cheeks and sides. This will slim down the look of your face. Apply dark colors for the eye shadow and use a good highlighter for the eyes. Use two tones in foundation for getting a perfect look. Keep your brows little curved from the inner corner.

3. Square shaped face

Use a dark shade foundation on the face. To make the face look rounder, apply a blush on the upper edge of the cheeks, also known as apples of cheeks. Apply light foundation on the forehead and nose. One can also blend the two shades in foundation to get a perfect look.

Summer skin care tips

As the seasons shift and the sun is out for a much longer time, there are different precautions we have to take. Here are the tips you can follow to keep that skin glowing and bump free!
Sunscreen, sunscreen, and more sunscreen!
A lot of us have these annoying flaws called “acne scars”. Acne scars are the darker marks pimples and zits leave behind. Acne scars are probably way more annoying than having a pimple itself. Help treat this by not only using fade and even tone creams, but also incorporate skin care products into your daily routine that contain sunscreen. The sun is out longer and the rays are stronger, so you want to be using something that can prevent those scars from getting darker.
Deep Cleansing Astringent
The summer means sweat. It also means oily skin, clogged pores, and even dirtier skin. Make sure to banish as much bacteria as possible with some deep cleansing astringent. Since this product  is so strong and contains more alcohol content, this should only be used a couple of times a week.
Oil Free moisturizer
With clogged pores and sweaty days bring a little more oil to your skin than you may be used to. It’s important that in this season, you read labels on those skin care products that you’re buying. This season, look for more water based moisturizers than those that have a lot of oil content in them. This will diminish less oil and leave your skin still feeling moisturized without oil.
Clay mask once a week
Once a week, relax your skin by applying a clay mask. This will aid in absorbing oils and dirt leaving your skin feeling breathless. Your pores will feel so clear after a week of summer weather!

10 Simple Self Help Makeup Tips For A Perfect Makeover

Applying make-up can be painstaking and cumbersome at times for a few of us. It gets even harder when you have to do it for yourself! You need not worry if your plan it accordingly. The following tips and steps will help you to get the perfect makeover!

How to do Self Makeup
Here I share with you 10 Self makeup tips which you can follow for best results.

Tip #1: Sharp eye and lip liners

To get super sharp liners, you have to freeze them in a refrigerator. Place your liners in refrigerator in the morning if you are planning to go for an evening party. Sharp the liners before applying the makeup and you get the best results ever.

Tip # 2: Always scrub

When you don’t scrub your face, the dry and dead skin makes your face look dull and dark. So scrubbing is necessary for a perfect look.
  • Just mix baking soda and water in equal quantities and stir it well.
  • After mixing, apply it on your face and rub it into your skin gently for up to 3 to 4 minutes and then wash it with clean water.

Tip #3: A Foundation is all you need

For getting a fair skin tone, we use “Foundation” as the base layer of makeup. But when done poorly, it looks too cakey and uneven. So it is essential that you apply this perfectly so that it appears invisible. Don’t do the mistake of blending the foundation down the neck and out on the ears. This will make you look like a clown.

Tip #4: Get Set Blush

Most of us think that Blush is a powdered makeup which adds colour to cheeks, but it does more than this. It shadows and contours the cheekbones. If badly applied, blush gives some sort of a 80s look and that too not in a god way.

Tip #5: The Eyeconic Eyes

My sister jokes about certain women saying their eyes look like “shutter doors” as they apply lots of eye shadow. The biggest mistake is that they mess up their makeup with an overdose of eyeliner, using it on the top and bottom lash line till it shrinks the eye. If you have some bold and very dark eyeliners, use them for night parties, this gives you a pretty look. These shades are not meant for the day at all!

Tip # 6: Be Smart with Mascara

Everyone likes waterproof mascara, I too love it. But I struggle too much while removing it. So I always apply a first coat with regular mascara, then above this I apply the waterproof one. Using this way, the waterproof mascara locks onto the other mascara instead of eye lashes and it is easy to remove.

Tip #7: Slides smoothly

If you want make your lips appear stunningly fresh, then scrub them so that the lip colour slides smoothly without caking. Take a toothbrush and rub it over your lips to take off the damaged skin, you can also use a hard cloth towel for this. (Don’t do it many times in a day, it will torture your lips)

Tip #8: Stunning Lips

Lip shade in bright colours like pink and orange draw more attention to your lips and looks tacky. A shiny gloss gives a bold effect so you can use them for dim-light occasions like holidays and night parties. While applying lipstick, you must choose a bit darker shade than natural colour of your lips, this gives realistic effect to your lip.

Tip # 9: Luminous is perfect

Everyone has their own natural face shadow. For looking fairer, you should brighten the natural shadow. It is very easy, stand in front of a mirror and smile – you will see the dark areas under your bottom lip or at the corners of your eyes. To cover these areas, just take an eye shadow with a white shade and blend it in with your fingers.

Tip #10: Soft touch

When blending or applying foundation, we usually use makeup brushes. But the skin of your face is delicate, so the prefect tool for applying makeup will be your ring finger. It applies makeup boldly and gives a perfect look, and also saves the time.
Follow these cool tips for a beautiful makeover.

Peach Cake

Super-Moist Peach Cake Deliciousness

Recipe adapted from Lisi’s Luscious Desserts.
1 3/4 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temp
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs
3/4 cup buttermilk
4 cups peeled sliced peaches (from about 3 pounds) (can be cooked or raw)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly butter a 13×9×2 inch glass baking dish.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
With a fork, beat the butter and sugar until smooth—and a little lighter,  about 3-4 minutes.  Add the eggs one at a time, and then the vanilla.
Scrape and mix again.
Add 1/3 of the flour mixture, followed by 1/2 of the buttermilk, repeat and finish with the flour.  Scrape and mix again, until all comes together. (I don’t know if you have to really do it like this, but I am a nervous baker, so I did.)
Pour the batter into the prepared dish.  Spread with a spoon, palette knife or rubber spatula.
Arrange peaches over the batter—it is OK if some overlap.
Spray or lightly butter a piece of tin foil and cover the cake with the foil (butter side down). Seal tightly.  Bake for 30 minutes covered.
Remove the foil carefully, then bake another 30 minutes or so until the top is a nice golden brown and the edges are crusty.  A toothpick should come out just barely clean.
Cool for about an hour.  Enjoy with ice cream, whipped cream or neither.  I recommend eating it for breakfast while standing over the sink.

The Best Whipped Frosting

1 cup milk
5 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup butter, at room temperature
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar (not powdered sugar)

In a medium saucepan, whisk one cup of milk with 5 tablespoons of flour. Heat over medium until the mixture begins to sputter, whisking constantly. Continue to stir as the mixture thickens. You will know it’s done when it reaches the consistency of thick cake batter, after about 7 minutes of heating and whisking. Stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and set aside to cool COMPLETELY.
Now, in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, or using a hand held mixer, beat 2 sticks of softened butter (1 cup) with 1 1/4 cups of granulated sugar until light, fluffy, and white in color, about 3 solid minutes of beating on medium-high speed. You want the sugar to be totally incorporated into the butter.
Be sure that the milk/flour mixture has completely cooled, and add it to the butter/sugar mixture. Beat all ingredients for about 1 minute on high speed, scraping down the bowl halfway, until they are smooth and well blended. The frosting should be as light and fluffy as whipped cream.

Buffalo Chicken Rolls

Ingredients
  • 12 egg roll wrappers (roughly 4 square inches)
  • 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken (6 ounces)
  • 1/2- 2/3 cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
  • 1 cup crumbled blue cheese (4 ounces)
  • 1 cup broccoli slaw or coleslaw (dry)
  • Blue cheese dressing, for serving

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lay egg roll wrappers on a clean work surface. In a small bowl, stir chicken* (see note below) and hot sauce until well coated, using more or less sauce depending on your spice preference. The meat should be moist with sauce.
  2. Begin by placing one tablespoon of the broccoli slaw on the diagonal of the bottom right corner of one of the wrappers. Next, place 2 tablespoons of shredded spicy chicken evenly on top of the slaw. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the blue cheese crumbles over the chicken. Do not overfill.
  3. To fold: Fold the bottom right corner over the stuffing mixture so that it covers it completely, with the tip of the corner now pointing to the center of the egg roll wrapper. Fold in the bottom left corner, followed by the right, so that you now have formed an envelope. Roll the wrap upward one time, leaving the top left corner open. Wet your index finger in the small bowl of water and press to moisten the top left corner. Now fold that down on top of the filled roll, sealing it like you would an envelope.
  4. Repeat with remaining rolls.
  5. Place the rolls on a wire rack set on top of a cookie sheet (or just on a greased cookie sheet) coated with nonstick cooking spray. Spritz each roll evenly with nonstick cooking spray. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are crisp and beginning to turn a light golden brown.
Notes
*Note: To make the chicken, place 1 large breast (about 6 to 8 ounces) in a small saucepan and fill with enough cold water just to cover the chicken. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat slightly, then simmer for about 12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through. Drain and let cool before shredding with two forks, pulling against the grain of the meat.

**I’ve used all variations of flour blends. Using all white flour produces the lightest, fluffiest texture, and the one most closely resembling a standard, full-fat cupcake. The balance I’ve chosen- using 1/2 white flour and 1/2 whole wheat- is quite perfect. Nutritionally, you’re getting a better-for-you dessert, and the texture isn’t compromised. Using all whole wheat flour turns out well too, it’s just that the cupcakes bake up denser. If you want to use 100% whole grains in the recipe, though, I’d recommend whole wheat pastry flour, as it lends a softer, more tender texture than traditional whole wheat flour. Use whatever you like.

Bridal Makeup Tips for a Glowing Bride

A bride should try to follow some beauty regime at least a month before her wedding. This will help her look gorgeous on her special day. Designer outfits like lehenga choli, sarees, salwar kameez, sharara and lehenga sarees are few most preferred outfits for this bridal season.

Cleanse for a Radiant Glow

Cleanse and prepare your skin for your special day. If your skin is prone to breakouts, visit your dermatologist. Clean your face with a cleanser, or cleaning wipes, before you start makeup application.

Massage gently with a scrubber. This will help to remove dead skin.

Rubbing ice cubes for a few minutes before makeup helps the makeup last longer, and liven up the face.

Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System, cleanses six times better, removes dead skin and helps maximize the immediate hydrating effectiveness of your anti-aging moisturizer.

Deep Moisturize for Softness

Apply moisturizer and spread on every corner of your face. It will help your skin replenish its own essential fluids, to make your skin look softer, smoother, and more supple.

Apply concealer under your eyes, eyelids, lips and nose. Blend it well with your fingertips. Concealer acts as a makeup base and also helps to cover uneven skin tone. MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF35 is so concentrated, that a tiny amount can provide opaque coverage of the skin's imperfections and discolorations. It effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, moles, tattoos and birthmarks.

Tone Correction for Evenness

Next step is to apply foundation, which suits your skin and blends well, to give you a natural look.

Don’t go overboard! Else the result will be a ‘caked’ appearance.
Balance Your Look

Use colours that compliment your outfit. You can use a combination of colours to get the right look. For example, if you are wearing shades of reds or maroons, go with similar makeup tones like browns, maroons, peaches.

Balance a bright lip colour with a neutral eye makeup. Use a natural bronze instead of blush.

Emphasize Your Best Feature

Avoid excessive or very bright makeup. Instead, accentuate your best feature. For example, if you have big eyes wear kajal, and eye liner. You can also wear artificial lashes to emphasize your eyes. You can get fuller lips by wearing a lip voluminous. Sephora Palettes and Value Sets are perfect for this kind of look.

Wear Waterproof Makeup

Try and avoid golden silver glitters and shimmers for your wedding day.  These result in a very shiny appearance, which do not photograph well. Make sure your makeup is water resistant. Use your eye makeup that can withstand any crying. Your eye makeup should last well, all day.

And the most important tip is to wear a perfect smile, which can give you a natural glow that completes your wedding day look.

Diet for healthy skin

"The most important part of the skin barrier is lipids, including phospholipids, free fatty acids, cholesterol, and ceramides," says Amy Newburger, MD, an attending physician in the Dermatology Department at St. Luke's Roosevelt Medical Center. "Skin without enough fat in it has a protein predominance and is kind of like a mess made just of twigs with no glue between them." Water easily escapes through a barrier without lipids, allowing skin to become dehydrated.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids are necessary for the production of intercellular lipids — the "glue" between the "twigs" in the stratum corneum, or surface of the skin. They also have an anti-inflammatory effect on irritated skin. Two types of fatty acids that are "essential" — that is, they must be obtained through the diet — are omega-3s, and omega-6s.

Foods that are high in omega-3 fatty acids include fatty fish like salmon, herring, mackerel, anchovies, and sardines, as well as flaxseed oil, some types of eggs, and grass-fed beef. Evening primrose oil and borage seed oil, which are high in omega-6s, help hydrate the skin and prevent water from evaporating, says Leslie Baumann, director of the University of Miami Cosmetic Medicine and Research Institute. "If you don't like fish or are pregnant and can't eat it, omega-3 supplements are a good option." Most Americans get enough omega-6s through their diet because they're contained in corn and safflower oils.

While anecdotal success of fatty acids for alleviating dry skin has not been conclusively bolstered by research, several studies have shown significant positive effects:
In a 2006 study of 50 patients with atopic dermatitis, 96 percent of those given capsules of evening primrose oil for five months showed notable reduction in intensity, itching, and dryness of the skin. In another study, of 29 elderly patients, borage seed oil supplements taken in pill form helped reduce water loss from the skin by 10.8 percent. And in a study of 118 infants with high risk of developing atopic dermatitis, those who were given borage seed oil and went on to develop the condition experienced a lower severity of the disorder than those in a placebo group. On the other hand, a 2006 meta-analysis of 22 studies that tested the effects of essential fatty acid supplementation found that no significant benefit was conferred on people with atopic dematitis by plant and fish oil supplements. More studies must be conducted before conclusions can be reached.
Vitamins and Minerals for Dry Skin
"Vitamin C is necessary for the function of the enzyme that causes collagen to form," says Dr. Newburger, "and collagen acts as a sponge for moisture." Newburger adds that copper and zinc are also necessary. Together, vitamin C, zinc, and copper keep collagen denser, which in turn allows for plump, hydrated skin. "Any good multivitamin with trace minerals in it contains zinc and copper," says Newburger. Zinc has also been found to have anti-inflammatory effects, which is vital for maintaining smooth skin.
Caffeine, Alcohol, and Dry Skin
While consuming caffeine is unlikely to dehydrate you, it does make the blood vessels constrict, which is why it's used in eye creams (to reduce puffiness). "Long term, this means a reduced amount of blood flow and nutrients though the tissues," warns Newburger. "And if you don't have healthy circulation, you won't have age-appropriate cell turnover." In the case of alcohol, Michele Murphy, a registered dietitian at NewYork Presbyterian–Weill Cornell Medical Center, explains that although it's a diuretic, you'd need to be severely dehydrated to experience any noticeable changes. "The average person having a glass of wine with dinner every night and maintaining adequate fluid intake is unlikely to see any real difference," she says. Contrary to popular belief, drinking large amounts of water does not affect skin. "The water we drink that's processed internally isn't going to impact the external look or feel of the skin," Murphy says. Instead, it's the skin's outer layer that is essential for keeping moisture in.
Don't Overdo It
If you're already eating a balanced diet with sufficient fats, adding more fats or taking supplements is not necessarily a quick fix for dry skin. "If you're deficient in fat or certain vitamins, it does have the potential to affect the look or feel of your skin," says Murphy. "But supplementing beyond what the body needs has not been shown to improve skin."

Oily skin care

Here are some of the steps that can prevent your makeup from becoming oily.

Wash Your Face:
Always wash your face before you start doing makeup. This is a standard beauty practice that many women ignore. Water washes away the oil that is already there on your skin.

Use A Scrub :
If you have oily skin, then you must use a scrub to clean your face before doing makeup. Scrubbing removes oil from deep within your skin pores and keeps your face stay oil-free for longer.

Don't Use Liquid :
Foundation If your face has a tendency to become oily, avoid applying liquid foundations. The best base makeup for your face is obviously liquid foundation but you have to forgo it because it can make your makeup look oily.

Powder Your Face :
Always apply dry foundation powder or gold dust to finish your makeup. The powdery nature of these cosmetic absorbs oil from the face. Use

Limited Concealer :
While foundation can be found in dry form as well, concealers are always oil based. Use limited concealer on your face. Remember, concealers are only to hide flaws and to give you an even complexion. Using too much concealer is a makeup mistake that many women make.

Carry Tissue Paper :
As a stop-gap arrangement, always keep tissue paper in your bag to soak oil from your face before it damages your makeup.
